Our next Sustainable Rogue Valley meeting on Sunday Dec. 4 features guest speaker Gif Gates, Manager of Raptor Creek Farm.
Gif will share about the farm and the Josephine County Food Bank’s vision and strategy for long term food security. Come hear about the history of Raptor Creek Farm, their clients and the statistics of food insecurity in Jo Co, the youth and senior programs at the farm, current development and future projects, community involvement at the food bank farm, how folks can get involved, and more!
Due to the holidays, our next Sustainable Rogue Valley meeting will be on Sunday December 4 (not our usual 4th Sunday schedule)

Thanks for the heads up, Barb. Gee, I miss spending time with you! I wish you lived next door! Last weekend was our RR Garden Club fall Plant Sale /Holiday Bazaar. We did really well, made over $110 more that last fall. The spring sale is always a bigger one with lots of plants and everybody in the mood to garden! So I was busy all week. I’ve been trying to include more of the new members in helping with events, and that takes more time! But we have some good new talent. And fun people. Next weekend is the Holiday Bazaar at the GP library and I am in charge of set up and clean up again this year. I don’t mind at all, I find it to be fun, but it can be tiring. I need a couple days of nothing after these weekends. A week ago was the UU Yard Sale and I helped set up on Friday and clean up after the sale on Saturday. It was fun. When you’re there next, check out he 54 pansies (from Greenleaf) that I planted in the front. To supplement the pretty plantings that Rachel had done. I begged her to let me add color!!
How are things at the Allen Compound? Has your younger son arrived yet? Anticipation can be hard too…. Time for dinner! More later… I will try to come to next SRV meeting….
